Patsy Bannister Viall, 68, of Springville, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, July 24, after a long illness.
She was born May 17, 1946, in Birmingham to the late Adrian K. and Mildred R. Bannister. Patsy graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1964 and married Bobby Joe Viall, of Sheffield, in October of 1964.
Patsy worked as an RN at both Princeton and St. Vincent’s East hospitals and loved to spend her time off traveling with her friends and family. She was a lifelong Elvis Presley fan, loved going to the beach, cheering on the University of Alabama Crimson Tide, and planning trips to Hawaii. A quintessential Southern woman and a true steel magnolia, Pat retired from nursing due to a lung disease, but she still loved to travel and spend time with friends and family.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Bob Viall; their two daughters, Kelly Viall and Shannon Viall; her brother Kenneth L. Bannister; and hundreds of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and many wonderful neighbors.
Visitation is to be held at John Ridout’s in Trussville from 10 a.m.-noon on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014. A memorial service will follow at noon at the same location. In lieu of flowers, Patsy’s family asks that donations be made in her name to
in Memphis.
