Patsy Ann Smith, age 71, of Athens passed away at her home on November 15, 2024.Mrs. Smith was born March 8, 1953, in Limestone County to Charles and Dorothy Ferrell Cooley.
Patsy was preceded in death by her husband Edward Douglas Smith; her son Jason Dewayne Smith; sisters Charlene Holcomb, Peggy Posey, and Cherry Simpson.
Survivors include her sisters Angela Hennesee and Palma Delrio; brother Terry Cooley; several nieces and nephews as well as numerous great- nieces and nephews.
She served as a dietician at Cullman Regional Hospital for many years. She greatly enjoyed her job. Scrapbooking was a passion of hers. Her porcelain doll collection was of great joy to her.
Visitation will be held at McConnell Funeral Home on Friday, November 22, 2024 from 1-2 pm. A service will follow in her honor at 2pm. Burial will be at Cullman City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be T.J. Cooley, Wes Harvey, Darius Teague, Ricky Teague, Quentin Harrison and Logan Haggard. Honorary pallbearers will be James White, Joseph Haggard, and Robin Harrison.
