Patrick Dean Maloney passed away peacefully on Monday 8/7/2023 with his family by his side at Crestwood Hospital in Huntsville, AL. Patrick is preceded in death by his mother Thelma Harper, father Marvin Maloney, siblings Marvin Maloney, Thomas Maloney, William Maloney, Juanita Carter and Molly Allen.
Patrick was born the youngest of seven children on December 6th, 1946 in Eccles, West Virginia. He grew up in a coal mining town where his dad was the electrician in the mines. He was the quarterback for Trap Hill High School. At the age of 17 he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country 22 years. Early in his career he served a tour in the Vietnam War. He came home to Jackson, KY from Vietnam one month early due to his father Marvin ‘s death. His mom Thelma would go to the Varsity Diner for coffee where she met Faye Turner a waitress and introduced Faye to Pat. That was the start of their life together and they were married November 3rd, 1968. Pat retired sargeant first class. He worked as a civil servant for 17 years on Redstone Arsenal as a calibrator for TMDE. Pat was force retired in 2004 due to going legally blind. His retirement years he loved fishing, hunting, and helping raise his four grandchildren. Pat enjoyed swimming in the pool with his family, tending the garden, developing the land he bought at Lake Weiss, watching westerns, chewing his tobacco, and enjoying a good cup of coffee.
Pat is survived by his wife Juanita Faye Maloney, daughter Deborah Stone, son-in-law Damon Stone, grandsons Dylan Stone and Jimi Stone, son Shawn Maloney, daughter-in-law Melissa Maloney, grandchildren Lucy Maloney and Josh Maloney. He is also survived by his oldest sister Shirley Ellis.
