Patricia Vaught passed away peacefully at home on October 4, 2022 at age 93, surrounded by family.
Patricia Diane Dodder Vaught was born in Bellevue MI to Ruth Evelyn Smith and Jacob S. Dodder. She married Robert Layton Vaught on December 23, 1948 and they raised a family of four children as she studied to become a nurse and he served in the Army. As a Registered Nurse, Patricia worked as Director of Nurses at Wayne County General Hospital, and then at the VA Hospital in Nashville TN on the kidney transplant unit from 1976 until her retirement in 1993.
Patricia is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Robert Layton Vaught, and parents Ruth and Jacob Struble Dodder. She is survived by her children: Robert Douglas (Jenn) Vaught, Teresa Vaught (Jeff) Cobble, William “Bill” Martin (Sandra) Vaught, and Mary Beth (Eddie) Harrington; and grandchildren: Jeff Jacobs, Andrew Norman, Nicole Norman, Isaac Vaught, and Jennifer and Christopher Vaught. She is also survived by sister Jean Michele of Fairbanks AK.
