Patricia Phillips, 78, of Arab, passed away Monday August 24th, 2020 at her home. Funeral Services will be held Thursday August 27th, 2020 at Marshall Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow afterwards at Marshall Memory Gardens.
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Edward Justice, her husband Dan Phillips, and her parents Clarence and Mildred Childers.
Patricia was born in Rome, GA to her loving parents Clarence and Mildred Childers. She was the oldest of 4 children. The family moved to Albertville, when she was young, and she attended the Albertville School System. She graduated Albertville High School where she met the love of her life Edward Justice.
After dating for a couple of years, the two lovebirds tied the knot. Their family grew when their lovely daughter Wendy was born, but it was not complete until the baby of the family Penny was born.
Penny described her mother in the following way:
My mother was not a church going person. She always said, to talk with God, she would rather be in the woods on a rock. She would say a little prayer every night for protection of us all.
She loved good music. She would call me over just to play a new song for me. Country music or rock, she loved it all. She loved raising a garden in the summer and cooking country food.
Mama loved her flowers too. She could grow anything.
She only had one grandchild, Zac, whom she adored. She spoiled him rotten. I remember when he was little, he wrote on my wall. I was gonna get onto him for it, and Mama said, “that’s art”, don’t you get onto him!
I could go on and on, but I won’t.
My mother will be missed.
I know she’s up there with my Daddy now.
Patricia is survived by her loving daughters; Wendy Henderson and her husband Jimmy; Penny Williams and her husband Matthew; her loving grandson Zac Hinds and and his father Steve Hinds.
Visitation will be Thursday August 27th, 2020 at 11:00 am at Marshall Memorial Funeral Home until the start of the service.
