Mrs. Patricia “Pat” Statum, age 83, of Athens passed away at her home on December 17, 2024.Pat was born October 23, 1941, in South Carolina to Buster and Mary Robinson Smith.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother in laws Wade Menefee and Tim Carter; sister-in-law Annette Smith.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Randall Statum; son Troy Statum (Patti) ; daughter Mitzi Faulkner (Bill) ; brother Carey Smith, sisters Faye Menefee, Mary Frances Carter, and Betty Sue Bryant (Gerald) ; grandchildren Bodie Statum (Jeanne) and Montana Abel (Chase); and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Statum enjoyed singing, casting a line while fishing, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren whom she adored. She was always ready to indulge in a bowl of ice cream. She was a member of Bethel Church of Christ. Pat’s happy place was spending time on the beach.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 19, 2024, at McConnell Funeral Home from 12:00-1:30 pm. A service in her honor will follow at 1:30 pm with Brother Jimmy Clark officiating. Burial to follow in Roselawn Cemetery.
