Patricia "Pat" Ray Profile Photo Patricia “Pat” Ray, 68, of Corinth, MS passed away at her residence on Thursday, June 6, 2024. She was born in Tippah County, MS on August 9, 1955 to the late Lester and Pearl Hopkins and graduated from Falkner High School in 1973. Patricia worked as an administrative assistant at the Alcorn County Sheriff’s Department for years and later as the VA Service Officer at the Alcorn County Courthouse. Her dedication to assisting veterans earned her respect and admiration from all who knew her. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Patricia will be remembered for her passion for cooking, gardening, visiting flea markets, and sewing. Her creativity and love for creating things were evident in everything she did. Those who had the privilege of knowing Patricia will remember her as someone who was always willing to lend a helping hand. Her giving spirit touched the lives of many, especially the local area veterans whom she selflessly served. Visitation is scheduled from 12-2 pm Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Magnolia Funeral Home – South. A Celebration of Life Service for Pat will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at 2 PM at Magnolia Funeral Home – South Chapel officiated by Bro. Randy Isbell. Interment will follow in Wheeler Grove Cemetery. Family will serve as pallbearers. Magnolia Funeral Home – South is entrusted with the arrangements. Those left to honor Pat’s memory include her husband of 46 years, Jimmy Ray; her daughters, Tracey Sanders (Brad) and Stacey Sanders (Ryan); her grandchildren, Casey Roach, Skylar Sanders, Branden Ray, Elijah Sanders, Anna Ray, and Scarlett Sanders; 5 great grandchildren; her brother, Jimmy Dale Hopkins (Arlene); her sister, Lucille Grisham; other relatives, and a host of friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, David Ray; her grandson, Caleb Roach; and her brother, Billy Hopkins. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Online condolences may be expressed at magnoliafuneralhome.net.
