Patricia “Mama Pat” Jackson
Tupelo- Patricia Ann Martin Jackson,77, died at her home Thursday, January 5, 2018. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, on February 13, 1940 and raised in the Bronx. Patricia was more affectionately known as Mama Pat. In New York, she was raised Catholic but after moving to Tupelo, over 50 years ago, attended Church of Christ services. Mama Pat was described by her family as having a personality of her very own. She enjoyed fishing, sewing, and hemming for her family and friends. Mama Pat loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mama Pat is survived by five children, Susan Hutcheson and her husband, Butch of the Wheeler Community, Christine Roush of Tupelo, Eddie Reynolds and his fiancé, Elizabeth Brewer of Perryville, Missouri, Michelle Hunt and her husband, Chip of Jackson and Shawnitta Dye and her husband, Tony Smith of Tupelo; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Hunt Martin; two children, Clifton “Wade” Stephens and Jessica Hanes; one granddaughter, Amber Michelle Witcher and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 4 until 7 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018 at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.
A celebration of Mama Pat’s life will be held 10 a.m. Sunday, January 7, 2018 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues.
Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Reynolds, Keith Reynolds, Lonnie Stone and Rick Allred.
