Patty TuckerIt is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Jean Tucker, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. Patricia left this world on June 10, 2023, from Sanctuary Hospice House. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She was born in Tupelo on June 2, 1951, to William F. Waters and Betty Jo Ballard Waters. She graduated from Saltillo High School. Patricia dedicated 25 years to Hunter-Douglas before her retirement, where she thrived in her career and made lasting contributions to the company.

Family was the cornerstone of Patricia’s life. Patricia was a beacon of warmth and kindness, always bringing people together and fostering a sense of family wherever she went. She deeply appreciated the bonds of kinship and found joy in the simple pleasures of gathering loved ones.

Patricia is survived by her two children, Thomas “Tad” Tucker of Shannon, and Stefanie Shields of Saltillo; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Ryan Oliver (Amanda) of Austin, Texas, Thomas Reed Tucker (Missy) of Amory, and Cheyenne Wallace of Red Bay, Alabama; two great-grandchildren, Colton Tucker, and Bonnie Lynette Tucker; one sister, Brenda Britt (Carl) of Tchula; one brother, Billy Waters (Susanne) of Murfreesboro; nieces and nephews, including two special nieces, Deana Carlock, and Traci Dillard; special great-niece, Iris “KitKat” Dillard; special friend, Reba Bailey, and son-in-law, Rodney Oliver.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Kathy Carlock.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date with inurnment at First Presbyterian Columbiums.
