Mrs. Patricia Jean Ryan Padgett Patricia Jean Ryan Padgett (74) of Guntersville passed away peacefully Friday, December 27, 2024, after a long battle with dementia.
Pat, as she was known toeveryone, loved Jesus with her whole heart and taught Sunday School faithfully for many years at Victory Baptist Church in Guntersville and then later at Union Grove First Baptist Church. Pat was an amazing writer and enjoyed reading, scrapbooking and vacationing in the Smokey Mountains. She was a beloved mother and “Granny” and will be missed.
Born May 19, 1950,the youngest of three children, Pat graduated Marshall County High School in 1968. She received both her Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in English from the University of Alabama Huntsville. Most of herprofessional career was spent working at US Army Aviation and Missile Command at Redstone Arsenal before retiring in 2006.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Mary Ryan; sister Mary Virginia Matthews; and beloved husband of 33 years, Billy Ray Padgett. She is survived by her children,Katy Norton (David) of Arab, Ruth Durden (Scooter) of Madison, Lindsey Champion (Brandon) of Guntersville, Jason Padgett (Jana) of Huntsville, Gina Cannon of Huntsville; Brother: Rev. Joseph Donald Ryan (Pam) of Tuscaloosa formally of Guntersville: grandchildren, Brandon Jones (Casey), Tristan Clay (Aaron), Harry, Caroline and Gabe Norton, Katelynn Page, Dylan Padgett and Hannah and John Wallace Champion; three great grandchildrTuscaloosaen, Tanner Jones, Mason Jones, and Oliver Padgett. Several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews..
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Guntersville Memorial Chapel from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 pm with Rev: David Norton officiating. Burial will follow at Marshall Memory Gardens
