Patty was born on June 13, 1937 in Jackson to the late Luther and Rachel Stallings. She was a graduate of North Side High School as the valedictorian of her class. She was very humble about this achievement as her family just found this out about her. She was also a basketball star at North Side.
She was a wonderfully talented pianist and organist and served for over 53 years on the staff of Liberty Grove Baptist Church. She loved her family, her church family, and her special group of lady friends. Patty loved to eat out and loved to be served as she ate out. She also loved to travel, especially to the Smokey Mountains and she always loved her time on the Tennessee River with Jack. Memaw, as she was lovingly called by her family, was always famous for her chocolate and buttermilk pies. She loved for her family to gather for Gumbo Sunday.
Most importantly, Patty loved the Lord. She was a prayer warrior and dedicated to reading God’s Word.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Manhein, Sr.; her sister, Peggy Grimes; and a special son-in-law, Ronnie Wilbanks.
Patty is survived by her son, John Towater (Shawn); daughters, Janet Wilbanks and Judy Price; grandchildren, Leslie Ford (Jon), Jason Towater (Blair), Judd Wilbanks (Jeni), Wendy Parker (Colton), Jenna Pearson (Tyler), Walter Price, Jill Wyatt (Darren), Cody Weir and Ally Weir; and fifteen great grandchildren.
