Patricia Ann Murphy, 84, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2023, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born August 25, 1939, in the charming town of Asco, West Virginia, to her loving parents, Virginia Lou O’Neal and Noble Allen O’Neal.
Patricia possessed a strong work ethic. She spent the better part of her career at Superior Products and Leggett and Platt, where she displayed dedication and commitment to her work. Patricia ultimately retired from a fulfilling career at Leggett and Platt.
Beyond her professional life, Patricia was a woman of diverse interests. She loved music. In her quieter moments, she enjoyed the challenge and satisfaction of working jigsaw puzzles. Another favorite pastime of Patricia’s was playing cards, a source of fun and amusement with her husband of 32 years, O’Neal. Patricia was also a dedicated member of Euclatubba Baptist Church.
Patricia is survived by her husband, O’Neal Murphy; daughter, Pamela Casto and her husband, Rusty; son, Kevin Burleson; stepson, Tracy Murphy and his wife, Lorie; three sisters, Carol Rubio, Linda Thompson, and Jo Fox; four brothers, Keith O’Neal, Kermit O’Neal, Noble O’Neal, and Michael O’Neal; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Clay Burleson; one sister, Donna Freeman; and one brother, Kenneth O’Neal.
Services honoring Patricia’s life will be 2 p.m. Friday, October 27, 2023 at the Saltillo Chapel of Pegues Funeral Directors with Rev. Scott Witcher officiating. Burial will be in Eucltubba Cemetery. Visitation will be 12 p.m. until service time Friday at Pegues, Saltillo.
