Patricia Ann Ellis, 73, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at the North MS Medical Center. She was born to Richard and Bernice Pannell Ellis at the North MS Community Hospital on December 30, 1948. She graduated from George Washington Carver High School in Tupelo and Lane College in Jackson, TN. She earned her Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. She was employed by the Milwaukee Public Schools from 1970 until her retirement in 2003. During her career she worked as a classroom teacher, co-operating teacher, a writing resource teacher and a computer lab instructor. She was selected to Who’s Who Among American Teachers in 1990, 2000, and 2004. A lady that liked to give back, she volunteered for the Inner City Arts Council of Milwaukee, the Women’s First Resource Center in Tupelo, she was the Volunteer Coordinator for Prevent Blindness of Wisconsin, a member of St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Director of Food Pantry at St. Martin de Porres Parish in Milwaukee. She loved reading books, working crossword and jigsaw puzzles, listening to all kinds of music and live theater.
Services will be 1 PM Friday, November 11, 2022, at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel her Tim Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
She is survived by two sisters, Gwendolyn Ellis and Brenda Ellis-Bass (Malcom) all of Tupelo; one brother, Wayne Patton (Evelyn) of Toledo, OH; her nieces, Nakia Tripplett, Evelyn P. Holden and Kesha Ellis; her nephews, Lamond Ellis, Taje Smith, Jeffrey Patton, Devonte Patton and Travis Patton; one great-niece, Ariah Ellis; two great-nephews, Evan Sellers and Santana Smith; a host of cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Royce V. Ellis.
