Pascal Eugene Nelson, “Billy”
Pascal Eugene Nelson, “Billy”, 82 of Cullman, passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, May 6, 2024, surrounded by family. Billy was born on February 15, 1942, to Gurley and Birdie Weaver Nelson.
Billy loved the Lord and was a member of Cullman First Congregational Methodist Church. He also loved all Alabama sports, but especially football. His family believes Billy was ready to return to the Lord, so he didn’t have to experience a season of Alabama Football without Saban as coach. Billy was a huge Braves fan and loved to watch wrestling. Besides sports and family, Billy loved to play bingo and attended as many senior events as he could around town with his sister, Judy.
He was the best Santa for his family and loved ones (even if he was a little too skinny for the role). He would sing loud and proud each Sunday at church and had great pride in all that he did. However, his absolute greatest pride was his family. His home was always filled on holidays with family and food, the sound of laughter carrying through the front door and out the back. It was hard to not smile around him because he would always give the best hugs and his grin lit up the room.
Billy will be greatly missed by his sisters, Janette Owens, Judy Nelson, and Kathy (Delone) Dunn, and a brother, Ronnie (Kaythy) Nelson. He loved his nieces and nephews like his own children, and they will forever hold him in their hearts: Gyzelle (Wade) Warren, Donna Whittle, Steve (Tammy) Knight, John Knight, Jen (Nikie) Hunter, Michael Logan, Katrina Bice, and Jocelyn Logan. He is also survived by a host of great nieces and nephews, and even a couple of great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Euel Audrey Nelson, and his twin sister, Patsy Jean Knight.
Services will be held at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home…
