Dr. Parilee Jeanette Franck McClure (83) gained her angel wings February 24, 2017, at Regency Retirement Home, Huntsville, AL, with best friend, Joyce Sons, by her side.
Born in Sheffield, Alabama, July 12, 1933, to Oscar A. Franck and Parilee Cotton Franck, Jeanette graduated from Sheffield High School, and attended Athens State University, where she received a degree in business and psychology. At age 58, with the help and encouragement from friend and mentor, Dr. Joe Slate, she received her Ph.D.
She retired from Marshall Space Flight Center where she worked with Dr. Werner Von Braun and his staff. Upon retirement, she co-owned Taylor Travel Agency.
Jeanette is most known as a gifted and much sought after psychic. Always eager to use her gift to help others, she worked alongside law enforcement throughout the South, was credited with solving several murder cases, and helped to locate missing persons. She was featured on the TV series Sightings.
Above all, she was a compassionate person and friend. She never left home without a bag of dog food, in the event she encountered a stray on the road. Always on the go, she adored the movies, spending time with friends, attending meetings, and learning new things. She was a faithful and selfless friend, always offering love and support.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Parilee Franck; husband, James W. McClure; and daughter, Donette Killen.
She leaves her brother, Oscar E Franck (Barbara), niece, Valerie Dorr (Dana), great-nephew, Morgan Dorr, and cousin, Hector Franck.
She is also survived by many devoted friends and families Jeanette embraced as her own. Among them, Joyce Sons, who she considered a “sister,” and her family, Harold Sons, Stacey, Troy, Tyler, Ashley, and Lainey Schumate; Debra Glass, who she often referred to as her “daughter”; dear friend, Sheila Vaughn; Billy and Billie Jo McCary, Joyce Barnette and Kinny Austin, and Dr. Mitch Robertson and family.
Visitation will be held from 2 – 4 p.m., Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Berryhill Funeral Home in Huntsville, Alabama. Funeral Services will follow at 4 p.m.
Jeanette will be interred alongside her beloved husband, James W. McClure, March 6, 2017, at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Anderson, South Carolina.
