Pamela Sponseller, 67, of Amory, MS passed away July 29, 2024, after a long illness. She was surrounded by family at The Meadows in Fulton, MS where she has resided the past years. She was well loved and cared for by the staff and other residents. Pamela had a love for collecting and restoring antiques and enjoyed her years of being a professional truck driver.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 6 PM on Thursday, August 1, 2024 in the Sadie M. Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors. Visitation will be from 5 PM to service time. For those unable to attend, the service can be viewed at 6 PM at hollandfuneraldirectors.com/live-streaming.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Barbra Dale; grandparents, Barley and Ollie Hood, and Callie and Irma Hester, all of Amory.
She is survived by her mother, Dale Thompson of Amory, and father, Lamar Hood of Amory; her children, Taft Alford (Lauren) of Corinth, Misti Alford of Mooreville, Kama Smith (Lucas) of Tupelo, and Heather Anderson (Clinton) of Mooreville; grandchildren, Elijah Tyra, Payton Tyra (Shelby), Hunter Guin (Carley), Madison Blaine Guin (Davis), Jon Evan Finney, Olivia Anderson, Rowan Alford, Tae Smith, Mackenzie Mounger (Robert), Lexie Hazel (Will), and Emma Kate Smith; three great-grandchildren, Amzie Rae Guin, John Crew Allen, and Vera Mounger; siblings, Tammie Galvin, Randy Hood, Danielle Hood Whitaker, and Lance Hood; and a host of nieces and nephews whom she adored, as well as two special furry friends, Dembae and Beau.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of The Meadows of Fulton who showed Pamela much love and kindness during her time as a resident. They would also like to acknowledge Pamela’s team from Sanctuary Home Hospice for their love and support of the whole family during this time.
