Pam Shores Murphy

Pam Shores Murphy of Hazel Green went to be with the Lord on Monday. She was 62. Pam grew up in Chicago and graduated from Marquette Manor Christian High School in 1979. She later returned home to Hazel Green and was a faithful Christian and member of Bevill’s Chapel Baptist Church.

Pam was a gentle, humble, and kind person but could be feisty at times. She loved southern gospel music, and in past years, sang in a group with some of her family. Pam loved going out to eat with her family, looked forward to family gatherings on holidays, and loved spending time with her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew Murphy; By her father, Gene Shores; By her grandparents, Alvie & Annie Shores, and Ira & Mildred Sisk.

Surviving family members include her mother, Wava Sisk Shores; Her step-son, Colin Murphy; Her brother and sister-in-law, Greg & Debbie Shores; Her brother, Eddie Shores; Her nieces and nephews: Samantha, Greg Jr, Lauren, Brandon, and Rebecca.; Her great nephews, and great-niece: Dominic, Jayden, and Lily; Her aunts and uncles, Elaine Worsham, Bonnie (Butch) LaPier, Roger (Brenda) Sisk, Loretta (Jimmy) Underwood, Jolene Sisk, and Lucille Southard. She is also survived by several cousins, friends, and her church family.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5pm until 7pm at Bevill’s Chapel Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 7pm at the church with Pastor Benny Berry officiating. A graveside committal service will be held on Saturday at 11am at Bevill’s Cemetery,
