Mrs. Ozella Rice LacyMrs. Ozella Rice Lacy was born in Madison County on January 21, 1932, to the late Willie Russel Rice and Hattie Smith Rice.

She went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Millennium Nursing Home.

She was married to the late William Lacy in 1946, and they shared 25 years of marriage until his passing in 1971.

Sister Lacy confessed hope in Christ in the 1950’s and joined Morris Chapel P.B. Church under the Pastorage of Rev. Pete Matthews. After moving to the city, she became a member of the Blue Spring Church of Christ (formerly Farris Drive Church of Christ) where she remained a faithful member until her health began to fail.

She was preceded in death by her siblings: Mrs. Bennie Thompson, Mrs. Lelia M. White, Mrs. Louvenia Love and Mr. Fred Rice.

She leaves to cherish her memories her other siblings: Mrs. Sharon Rice (Shelton), Ms. Phyllis Rice, Ms. Melda Faye Rice and Mr. Wayne (Elke) Rice, of Germany; a very    loving and caring sister-in-law, who was more like a sister, Mrs. Sarah (Henry) Alex of Beaumont, TX; devoted and loving caregivers nieces: Ms. Mary L. Patton, and Ms. Emma M. White and nephew, Mr. Charles H. White;   nieces: Mrs. Iola (Sam) Clemmons, Ms. Pearline Pruitt, and Ms. Hattie Sue Love; nephews: Mr. Larry (Janice) White, Mr. Jessie Louis Lacy, Mr. William (Edith) White, Chicago, IL, Mr. Albert White, Jr., and Mr. Archie (Sydney) White, VA;  a host of other nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins; a loving,       dedicated caring friend, Mrs. Karen Mazos; devoted church members: Dr. Floyd C. Rogers, Brother Paul and Sister Mildred Parker, Brother Marvin and Sister Vanessa Williams, who showed gestures of kindness during her illness.

“A CHAPTER COMPLETED, A PAGE TURNED, A LIFE WELL LIVED, A REST WELL EARNED”

Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m., Saturday, October 26, 2024 at the Royal Chapel of Memories (4315 Oakwood Avenue NW Huntsville, AL 35810) with Dr. Floyd C. Rogers officiating. Interment will be in the Meadowlawn Garden of Peace.

Public viewing will be held from 12:00 noon until 6:00 p.m., Friday, October 25, 2024 and 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., Saturday, October 26, 2024 at the Royal Funeral Home.
