Ms. Ozell MitchellMiss Ozell Mitchell, age 98, of Arab, Alabama passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at her residence. Miss Mitchell was born June 10, 1925 in Perry County, AL. the daughter of George W. Mitchell and Janie Graves Mitchell. She was never married, a high school graduate and an accomplished seamstress. During her years of employment she used her sewing skills working in the textile plants of Vanity Fair and Healthtex. Ozell was of the Bible Methodist faith and a member of Mt. Ivah Bible Methodist Church in Marion, Alabama.

Ozell was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She shared joy and goodness wherever she went. She always had a smile on her face and the love of God in her heart. She was an angel here on earth. Ozell loved her family. Every niece, nephew, great and great-great niece and nephew was special to her.

Ozell is survived by her many nieces and nephews and their extended families.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George W. and Janie Graves Mitchell; brothers, Amos Mitchell and Talmadge Mitchell; sisters, Effie Yeager, Arlene Crews, Ethel Monts, RT Yeager, Mary Massey and an infant sister.

In order to follow Ozell’s wishes, her services will be held at Pondville Bible Methodist Church in Bibb County, Alabama on Monday, March 11, 2024. The visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Reverend Steve Vernon will be officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ricky Morrow, Chris Morrow, Heath Smith, Kevin Thomas, Clay Belcher and Richard Yeager.

In lieu of flowers the family encourages donations to Pondville Perpetual Cemetery Fund, 8490 Payne Lake Road, Brent, AL. 35034 or to Mt. Ivah Cemetery Perpetual Fund, 501 Hampton Road, Selma, Al. 36701.
