Ozell Leak Hallman, 101 of Arab passed away Monday, May 6, 2024, at Marshall Medical Center North. She was born October 19, 1922, the daughter of Henry Sherman Rowe and Effie Elizabeth Hughes. Arab has been her home her whole life and she was a lifetime member of the Arab First Baptist Church. On July 31, 1940, she married Ira E. Leak and was married for 34 years at the time of his passing, June 13, 1974. In February 1991 she married Dutch Hallman and was married for 10 years at the time of his passing, October 20, 2001. Ozell enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Lawayne (Glenda) Leak, Joan (Charles) Duvall and Pat (Ray) Carroll; six grandchildren: Joe (Leigh) Leak, Tracey (Charlie) Griffin, Christy Yarbrough, Amy (Chris) Martin, Marcus Carroll and Kelly (Steven) Harmon; ten great grandchildren: Virginia (Price) Delk, Caroline Leak, Connor (Gracie) Griffin, Carson (Gage) Mason, Blake Griffin, Jack Yarbough, Alex Yarbrough, Jack Martin, Graham Martin and Ben Martin; two great great grandchildren: Judson Mason and Lucy Griffin. She was preceded by her first husband: Ira Leak, second husband: Dutch Hallman, parents: Henry and Effie Rowe; siblings: Zelda Hughes, Edna Lynch and Wilburn Rowe.
Graveside Service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2024, at the Arab Memorial Cemetery with Chris Martin officiating, Gober Funeral Chapel directing. There will be no visitation prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons.
