Owene A. Godsey, age 92 of Houston, passed away Monday, July 8, 2024 at her residence.
She was born July 7, 1932 to Owen and Mary Alford. Owene received a Bachelor of Science degree, followed by her master’s degree in education.
Service will be held at Houston Memorial United Methodist Church in Houston, Alabama. Family will receive friends from 10:00a.m. until service time at 11:00a.m. Thursday, July 11, 2024 in the sanctuary. Rev. Becky Scott and Johnny Frazier will officiate.
Owene is survived by her husband of 74 years, Carl Godsey; children, Mary Moore and Robert (Tonya) Godsey; grandchildren, John Godsey, Chris (Lauren) Godsey, Brittney Godsey, Amelia Godsey, James D. (Mary) Moore, Stephen (Haley) Moore, and Mary Beth (Evan) Bush; great grandchildren, Ethan Moore, Ella Moore, Eli Moore, Liam Moore, Ryley Moore, Kinley Moore, Maddie Bush, Bryson Bush, Ava Godsey and Jade Godsey. Also survived by her sister Betty Godsey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Owen Alford; sisters, Evelyn Sterling and Peggy Owens.
