Owen Seymore Valentine, Jr. was born in Kansas City, Missouri on June 6, 1935 to Owen Seymore Valentine, Sr and Gertrude Coleman Valentine. He was one of six siblings. He attended Kansas City public schools in Missouri, then attended Union College in Nebraska before graduating from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
He served in the United States Army and was granted an honorable discharge from active military service in 1960.
Following service to his country, Dr. Valentine graduated from Stanford University School of Medicine and subsequently practiced psychiatry for many years in northern California before moving to Huntsville, Alabama in May, 2021.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 27, 2024 at the Royal Chapel of Memories (4315 Oakwood Avenue NW Huntsville, AL 35810) with Pastor John Douglas Simons officiating. Funeral service and internment will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 8, 2024 at Greenwood Mortuary and Memorial Park, 4300 Imperial Avenue, San Diego, California 92113.
The Valentine family will receive guests from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 27, 2024 at the Royal Chapel of Memories.
There will be no public viewing.
