Owen Julian Henry – Obituary

Owen Julian Henry, age 83, of Tuscumbia, died Saturday, April 5, 2014.  The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, April 7, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia.  The funeral service will be Tuesday, at 2:00 p.m., in the funeral home chapel.  Ed White and Bruce Blankenship are officiating.  Interment will follow in Colbert Memorial Gardens.

 

Mr. Henry was a native of Tishomingo County, Mississippi, but lived most of his life in the Shoals area.  He was a U.S. Army veteran and was retired from Reynolds Metal Co.  His life passions were God, his family, and music.  Mr. Henry previously served as deacon and elder at Frankfort Road Church of Christ.  Since 1996, he and Christine have worshipped at Valdosta Church of Christ.

 

Preceding Mr. Henry in death are parents, Homer and Mamie Blankenship Henry; and siblings, James, Carlos, Bob, Mary Hazel, Helen, and Betty Jean.

 

Survivors include wife, Christine Bishop Henry; sons, Randel and Barry Henry; brother, John Henry; sisters, Kathryn Taylor and Margie Henry; and grandson, Philip M. Henry.

 

Pallbearers will be Bobby, Kirk, Brian, and Brit Bishop, Timothy Henry, Dennis Thrasher, Chuck Evans, and Ken Nunley.  Honorary pallbearers will be Oneal Bishop, Douglas Bishop, Wallace Handley, Mike Longcrier, Lynn Landers, Charles Henry, Donald Gray, and Michael Flack.
