FLORENCE-The Florence Police Department issued a statement concerning the stabbing of a 15-year-old girl last night,Tuesday, July 4:
“Last night officers with the Florence Police Department responded to a fight call at the intersection of Marlborough Blvd and Evergreen Street.
Officers arrived to find a 15-year-old female who had been stabbed multiple times. The female was transported to ECM hospital and is receiving treatment for her injuries. Her status is not known at this time.
Based on evidence and statements at the scene, a 16-year-old female was arrested and charged with Assault 1st in the case.
She is being held in the Tennessee Valley Juvenile Detention Center.
Detectives are currently working with juvenile authorities and the District Attorney’s Office and we anticipate the charges against the juvenile will be elevated to adult court.”
