MUSCLE SHOALS-Muscle Shoals Police has issued a statement concerning an overnight shooting that has taken place resulting in the death of one teen and another teen who has been taken into custody:
“At approximately 7:28 Sunday morning (06/16/2024), Muscle Shoals Police, Muscle Shoals Fire, and Keller EMS were dispatched to the Red Roof Inn on Woodward Avenue regarding a victim who had sustained a gunshot wound.
The victim, a fifteen year old juvenile from Tuscumbia, was transported to Helen Keller Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
At this time, a sixteen year old juvenile offender from Florence has been taken into custody.
Criminal charges are expected to follow in the appropriate court.
Alabama law prohibits the release of the identity of any involved juveniles.
MSPD would like to extend our prayers and condolences to the family of the deceased.”
