Funeral service for Othal Omer Miller will be Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 1 p.m. from the Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Billy Gabel officiating. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery, Moss-Service Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be tonight from 5 to 9 at the funeral home.
Mr. Miller passed away Monday, April 15, 2013 at his residence at the age of 91. He was born February 10, 1922 in Morgan County to Guy T. and Mary Mamie Wright Miller. Mr. Miller was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II and Korea. After his active duty he also served in local National Guards. He also worked with Worthington Compressor Co. and Goodyear in Decatur until his retirement in 1987. He is preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers; G.T. Miller, Melvin (Othell) Miller, Bobby Miller and Guy Green.
He is survived by three sons, Othal O. Miller Jr., Danny C. (Gail) Miller and Jimmy Farrell (Debbie) Miller; one daughter, Linda Carol Boyd; three stepsons, Dwain (Minnie) Fairbanks, Dwight (Betty) Fairbanks and Johnny Fairbanks; two brothers, Frank (Mattie Lou) Miller and Fred (Diana) Miller, four sisters, Mildred Reid, Hilda (Lewis) Bartlett, Willodean (Paul) White and Frances (Delwin) Kilgo; three sisters-in-law, Barbara Ann Miller, Jean Miller and Nada Green; special friend and caregiver, Nadine Knasel; five grandchildren, Phillip (Sherry) Miller, Erika (Justin) Lee, Preston (Caitlyn) Miller, Russell Miller and Sarah Boyd; two great-grandchildren, Logan Miller and Jordan Miller; and mother of the children, Helen Louise Miller.
