Oscar Hoskins, 58, of Toone, passed from this life Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at Bolivar General Hospital.
He was born Saturday, May 23, 1964, in Jackson, to Frances S. Sipes of Toone and the late Enlow H. Hoskins, living 20 years in Hardeman county, but was raised and attended schools in Collierville. He worked as a butcher at Gordon Butcher Shop in Olive Branch, MS prior to becoming disabled. He enjoyed fishing, boating and skiing, being able to ski on one foot. Mr. Hoskins was a sports enthusiast, watching baseball, Memphis Tigers football and most all sports. His family states that he ‘loved his mother, whom he thought of as his best friend, and being around his family including his nieces and nephews.’ He enjoyed going to church and held a great love for the Lord. Mr. Hoskins was a member of Collierville First Baptist Church.
In addition to his mother, survivors include a son, Matthew Hoskins (Nayara) of Austin, Texas; two sisters, Lori Brannon (Chuck) of Olive Branch, MS and Ann Goodwin of Rossville; a brother, Johnny Hoskins of Piperton; a half sister, JoAnn Johnson (Jack) of Collierville; and several nieces and nephews.
