Oscar Franklin LeMay, 82, passed away January 3, 2024. He was born in Lauderdale County on July 27, 1941.
Oscar, known by co-workers and friends as Big O, was retired from TVA. He was a member of Chisholm Hills Church of Christ, Teamsters Local #402, and Muscle Shoals Area Street Rod Association. He loved NASCAR, old cars, car shows, and traveling.
Visitation will be Monday, January 8, 2024 from 12-2 p.m. at Chisholm Hills Church of Christ. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. at the church with Charles Abernathy and Ty Rhymes officiating. Burial will follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Lang Hughes, David Covington, Darrell Lester, Bobby Darby, Terry Kennamore, Patrick Hughes, Wayne Fowler, and Johnny Tidwell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Winton, Wayne Parker, Earl Tank, Tommy Higginbotham, and Jesse Wisdom, and all members of the Muscle Shoals Area Street Rod Association.
Oscar was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie Wilburn and Esther Hill LeMay; brother, Leon LeMay; and sister, Ruth Covington.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Ruth Purser LeMay; daughter, Vicki LeMay; sister, Patricia Lemay Clements (Mike); and numerous nieces and nephews.
