Funeral service for Oscar Emmett “Bobby” Whitlow, Jr., age 82, of Decatur, will be Monday, April 13, 2015, 2:00 p.m., at Shelton Funeral Home with Bro. O. D. Bowling officiating. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to service. Interment will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Whitlow, who died Friday, April 10, 2015, at his residence, was born September 20, 1932, in Lawrence County to Oscar Whitlow, Sr. and Willie Jean Price Whitlow. He was a U. S. Navy veteran who served in the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Juanita Mobley Whitlow of Decatur; one son, Timothy Charles Whitlow of Decatur; one daughter, Teresa Faye Fleming of Huntsville; one stepson, Todd Lundy of Muscle Shoals; two stepdaughters, Teresa Jones of Decatur, and Tina Thomas of Muscle Shoals; one brother, Doyle Whitlow of Neel; two sisters, Joyce Martin of Hartselle, and Barbara Bogle Dooley of Decatur; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
