Orville Eugene Wallace – Obituary

Orville Eugene Wallace, 60, of Elkmont passed away on December 26, 2014 at Athens Limestone Hospital, surrounded by family, after a lengthy illness. Mr. Wallace was born January 4, 1954 in Cleveland, OH to Orville and Mary Helen Wallace.

Gene, as he was known to all, moved to Alabama in the 1950’s and worked in a variety of industries including Conagra and Copeland. He volunteered his time with Athens-Limestone Rescue Squad and with Tanner and Owens VFD. He served from 1971-1974 as a Fire/Rescue Petty Officer with the United States Navy, Company 362. Gene refereed wresting for a number of years, and enjoyed watching WCW on TV. Gene was an avid Alabama football and Nascar fan and never missed a chance to watch a game or race.

He is preceded in death by his parents Orville Lee Wallace and Mary Helen Wallace; brother, Jeff Wallace.

He is survived by wife of 16 years Donna Wallace of Elkmont; Brother Donnie Wallace of Tanner; Sisters Barabra Flannagan and Vicki Thompson of Athens; Sons Nathanal Gene Wallace of Albertville and Daniel Lee Wallace of Guntersville; Step-children Toni Marie Barnett of Elkmont and Timothy Salone Barnett of Athens; Grandchildren Treyvon McWilliams, Jaxon Barnett, Cayden Barnett, Christopher Wallace, Kristin Wallace, Meagan Wallace, Jacob Wallace, Cassey Wallace, Mandi Wallace and 8 nieces and nephews.

Graveside services are Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Fielding Cemetery 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Timothy Barnett, Kevin Mulack, Wade Evans, Nathanal Wallace, Daniel Wallace, Bradley Wallace and Nathan Adams.
