Orvil Woodrow “Jack” Nunley Jr., 73, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at his home in Saltillo after an extended illness. He was born August 19, 1949, in Colbert County, AL, to the late Orvil Woodrow “Jack” Nunley, Sr. and Edna Hyatt Nunley. He was a graduate of Deshler High School in Tuscumbia, AL and received an associate’s degree in business from Itawamba Junior College.

Jack worked in retail and the food broker industry. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing his guitar, and was an avid fan of Alabama Crimson Tide football. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Saltillo.

He is survived by his daughter, Ann Louise Nunley Gable (Michael) of Tupelo; his son William Jackson Nunley (Cathy) of Gulf Shores, AL; Nancy Parker Nunley and Casey Tennison (Amanda) all of Saltillo; five grandchildren, Afton and Ella Michael Gable of Tupelo, Anna and Emma Nunley of Gulf Shores, AL, and Parker Tennison of Saltillo; his sister Jane Nunley of Tuscumbia, AL; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Jo Ann Nunley Mitchell, and brother-in-law Maurice Mitchell.

Services will be private to the family. Arrangements entrusted to Holland Funeral Directors in Tupelo, who are honored to serve their friends.
