Orvie Carpenter James, age 82 of Phil Campbell, Alabama passed away June 9, 2023 at North Alabama Medical Center. She attended Mars Hill Church of God.
Visitation will be Monday, June 12, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Haleyville, Alabama. Funeral service will be Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Phil Campbell with Bro. Woodrow Taylor officiating. She will lie in state from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery. Michael James, Charles Adcox, Justin Colburn, Kyle Courington, Tim McClemore and Buddy Smith will serve as pallbearers.
Ms. James is survived by her daughters, Patsy (Randy) Barnes, Betsy (William) Welch and Brenda Tidwell; siblings, Ruby Fell, Clayton Carpenter, Edna (Paul) McMicken, Charles Carpenter and Eloise Baily; grandchildren, Jonathon (Tori) Barnes, Debra Baker (Charles Adcox), Raleigh (Lexie) Barnes, Brittany (Kyle) Courington, Justin Welch, Dana Jones (Justin Colburn), Peyton Monken; great grandchildren, Troy Price, Emma Courington, Case Barnes, Colter Barnes, Gabrian Adcox-Wilson, Jordan, Trenton, Katelin, Joyce and Kinslie Adcox.
She is preceded in death by here husband, Cledis James; son, Gilbert James; parents, Arce and Flora Carpenter; brothers Gene and Clyde Carpenter; sister, Mary Lou Southern; unborn great grandchild, Baby Adcox; and her beloved fur baby Jenny.
The family would like to say a special thanks to Sarah Ann Hoadley, RN at North Alabama Medical Center ICU; Brittany Stancil Davis for Hair Care; Theresa Howard for being a wonderful friend and providing family support; and her special sister in law, Jane Carpenter and nephew, Todd Carpenter.
