Orby C Graves

Age 82 of Cottontown went home to be with the Lord Saturday, July 10, 2021 at NHC in Springfield. He was born September 4, 1938 in Orlinda, TN to Amon O. & Bertha Perdue Graves, He worked as a farmer and was the custodian of White House First Baptist Church. He enjoyed growing peaches, apples and blueberries. He was very mechanically inclined and loved tinkering with many things. He was an avid hunter in his earlier years and enjoyed spending time in the outdoors. He was quite the prankster and enjoyed playing practical jokes on everyone. He is preceded in death y his parents; 6 brothers, Edward, L.V., Eldon, Estle, J.T., & Clifford Graves; 5 sisters, Evarino Morris, Mavarine England, Ethyl Jarman Thompson, Christine Broadrick and Argie Graves; son-in-law, Randy Gower. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara Graves, Cottontown, TN; Daughters, Melinda Gower, Cedar Hill, TN and Michelle (Gary) Adcock, Springfield, TN; grandchildren, Chris (Tara) Brown, Justin Gower, both of Cedar Hill, TN, Gabe Adcock, Elizabeth Adcock and Ansley Adcock, all of Springfield, TN; 7 great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Katelyn, Lyndsey, Abigail and Clayton Brown; Cason & Mary-Ann Gower. Funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 2pm at Cherry Mound Baptist Church with Pastor Greg Young officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation is planned for Wednesday, July 14, 2021 10am until the time of the service at the church.
