Ora M. Hunt, age 96, of Cherokee, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, August 17, 2012. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, August 18, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. Funeral services will be Sunday, at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Cedar Creek Cemetery. Bro. Sam Wallace will be officiating.
Mrs. Hunt was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church, and lived according to her life verse, Psalm 19:14, “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.” She was a seamstress for Wrangler for twenty years. Preceding Mrs. Hunt in death are her loving husband of seventy-three years, Thurman Hunt, and daughter, Jackie Stonecipher.
Survivors include children, Dwayne Hunt and wife Becky, Dwight Hunt and wife Karen, and Earline Goins and husband Leon; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; seventeen great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
