Opal left this world on September 10, 2024 at the age of 95, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Luther Shankle and Gertrude Bond Shankle; her husband Rev. Travis T. Voss; and her siblings, Gene Shankle, Rayburn Shankle, Loyd Shankle, Floyd Shankle, Harold Shankle, Nell Rose and Audrey Cartee Terry.
She is survived by: her sons, Ray Voss (Janet), Charles Voss (Judy) and Mark Voss (Jodi); and her sisters, Hazel Basden, Gail Terry, Marie Letson and Kay Trussell. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 15th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Shelton Funeral Home Chapel (2105 Beltline Rd SW, Decatur, AL 35601). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 15th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Sunday, September 15th 2024 at the Roselawn Cemetery Memorial.
