Opal Weaver Cummins Opal Mae Weaver Cummins, 86, homemaker and resident of Columbia, died Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

 

A private family service will be held at Polk Memorial Gardens with Pastor Rick Cox officiating. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors are assisting the family with arrangements and condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.

 

Born September 4, 1935, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of the late Reverend Willie Weaver and the late Maggie Krick Weaver. In 1973, she married Sidney Doyle Cummins who preceded her in death. Mrs. Cummins was a member of the Baptist Church.

 

Survivors include her daughters, Shirley (Buzzy) Jarvis of Little Rock, Arkansas; Nancy (T. Kevin) Markham of Columbia; Theresa McDonald of Birmingham, Alabama; grandchildren, Amy (Marty) Skrivanos of Little Rock, Arkansas; Ben (Sarah) Jarvis of Little Rock, Arkansas; Amber (Dr. Daniel) Wakefield of Nashville; Matthew Thomas (Gabby) Markham of Spring Hill; and Torre McDonald of Tuscaloosa, Alabama: and great grandchildren, Sydney Skrivanos, Sophie Skrivanos, Will Skirvanos, Zander Jarvis, Corrie Jarvis, Lottie Jarvis, Thomas Daniel Wakefield; sisters, Wilene Stanford of Lawrenceburg; Evelyn (Ricky) Cox of Leoma; and brother, Willard (Ivanell) Weaver of Alabama.

 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Clifford Weaver and Milton Weaver.
