Opal Mae Barrett Sides Cagle Sowell was born December 25, 1935 in Pocahontas, TN, the daughter of the late T.W. and Ora June Head Barrett.
Miss Sowell departed this life on March 11, 2014 in Memphis, Tennessee at the age of 78 Years, 2 Months, 14 Days.
She is survived by children, Shirley Jones, Joyce Barnes, Reese Lewis, and Phillip Cagle all of Memphis, TN, Jerry Sides of Olive Branch, MS, Timothy Sowell of ILL; a sister, Nola Sides of Alamo, TN; three brothers, Clifford Barrett of Bethel Springs, TN, Huey Barrett , and Elmer Barrett both of Bells, TN; thirteen grandchildren, Deon Arthur, Terry Arthur, Myra Frans, Crystal Sotelo, Kenny Draffin, Michelle Haggard, Tonya Campbell, Jerry Sides Fowler, Amanda Palmer, Shannon Sides, David Lewis, Andrew Lewis, and Simone Soulnier; 13 Great Grandchildren; and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.
