Ms. Opal Greenway Byrd, age 81, passed away peacefully Friday after battling a long-term illness surrounded by family in the home of her nephew Paul Forgette (Phyllis). She was born September 9, 1941, in Henderson County, TN. to Albert and Addie (Horton) Greenway and was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Byrd, her parents Albert and Addie Greenway, two sisters Mary Greenway Forgette and Faye Greenway Lovell, two brothers Albert Greenway Jr. and Vernon Greenway. She is survived by nephew Paul Forgette (Phyllis) and many other nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be 2:00pm Monday, March 6, 2023, at Wards Grove Baptist Church, Law Rd, Lexington Tn.
