Opal G. McKinney Garrison, 97, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Southern Magnolia, Golden, MS. She was born in Atwood, AL to Andy and Eva Hammock McKinney. She was a longtime member of Cornerstone Church of God.
Services will be Thursday, April 4, 3:30 p.m. at Cornerstone Church of God with Bro. Rick Bradley officiating. Burial will be in Red Bay City Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by three children, Anita Grimes (Steve), Sharlene Funderburk (Larry) and Guy Glenn Garrison; six grandchildren, Steven Grimes (Lindsey), Noah Grimes (Katie), Timothy Grimes (Kerri), Anna M. McDermott (William), Garrett Zika (Amanda) and Erik Gonzalez; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Grider Garrison, her parents and siblings, Demple Estes, J.C. McKinney, Fred McKinney, Kathleen Williams, Maxine Garrison and Ruby Garrison.
Pallbearers will be Steven Grimes, Noah Grimes, Tim Grimes, Carson Grimes and Garrett Zika.
Honorary pallbearer will be Jerry McKinney.
Visitation will Wednesday, April 3, 5:30-8 p.m. at Cornerstone Church of God.
