Opal Faught – Obituary

OpalFuneral services for Opal Faught, 90, of Decatur, will be Monday, March 3, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with Eric Johnson, Brother Barry Sempsrott, and Wallace Millsap officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, at 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Faught passed away Friday, February 28, 2014, at her residence. She was born July 4, 1923, in Evangeline, LA. to Samuel and Virginia Johnson.

She was a homemaker, a fantastic cook and loved spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed playing games, traveling and fishing.

Mrs. Faught was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 55 years, Kermit Orlen Faught; daughter, Deloris and son-in-law Douglas Cooper; brothers, Crompton Johnson, Cecil Johnson, Haas Johnson and Jimmy Johnson; sisters, Betty Lachman, and Lila Green.

Mrs. Faught is survived by her son, Kim Faught (Debbie) of Pine Prarie, LA.; daughters, Elizabeth Aldridge (Don) of Chattanooga, TN., Karen Horne (Matt) of Marietta, GA., and Bridget Woodall (Joe) of Decatur; brothers, Hill Johnson (Elaine), Johnny Johnson (Cathy), Rick Johnson (Joanna); sister, Laura Johnson; grandchildren, Melani McWhirter, Bill Aldridge (Traci), Scott Aldridge, Deena Montgomery (Greg), Lauren Horne, Elizabeth Horne, William Woodall, Aaron Faught, and Anna Woodall; great-grandchildren, Garrett McWhirter, Megan Aldridge, Brandon McWhirter, Blake Aldridge, Olivia Aldridge, Cooper Montgomery, Grace Montgomery, Cole Aldridge, and Sam Montgomery.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.

Honorary Pallbearers will be great-grandsons.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Harold Coomer Evangelistic Association.
