With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Opal Annette Hill Giompoletti, on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at the age of 83. She was an extraordinary mother who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. A friend to many, she leaves behind a legacy of kindness and strength, full of love, laughter, and resilience.
Born in Bruce, MS, on September 14, 1941, to James Coy and Trudie Simpson Hill, Opal was preceded in death by the love of her life, James Lawrence Giompoletti, her parents, and her grandson, John Dalton Carter.
She leaves behind her children, Tina Louise Giompoletti Saxon (Sonny) of Algoma, MS, Tamela Mechile Giompoletti-Carter (David) of Ecru, MS, James Anthony Giompoletti of Ecru, MS, Timothy Coy Giompoletti (Kasi) of Algoma, MS, and Tisha Anna Maria Giompoletti of Oxford, MS. She was a proud grandmother to eight wonderful grandchildren: Gabrielle Elizabeth Giompoletti Graham (Trey), Douglas Glenn Saxon III, Autumn Gale Saxon-Roye, Logan BreAnna Liles-Giompoletti, Olivia EviAnna Liles-Giompoletti, Trystan James Lawrence Giompoletti, and Naomi Grace Leath, and a great-grandmother to four great-grandchildren: Remington Michelle Graham, Hazley Grace Graham, Ruby Clara Graham, and Marcus Gunner Graham.
Visitation will be held from 5-8PM on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc. Graveside Services will be at 2PM on Friday, November 15, 2024, at Pontotoc Memorial Gardens with Bro. Jeff Blackwelder officiating.
Pallbearers will be Douglas Glenn Saxon III, Mitchell Hurst, Russell Mahan, David Carter, Jeremy Roberts, and John Willis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gabrielle Elizabeth Giompoletti, Autumn Gale Saxon-Roye, Logan BreAnna Liles-Giompoletti, Olivia EviAnna Liles-Giompoletti, Trystan James Lawrence Giompoletti, and Naomi Leath.
