Sheffield Stormwater Project

Sheffield Stormwater Project

“Several years ago I observed a couple of major storm water issues in the City of Sheffield. I had asked the Kelly Group to look at the issue and Kelly Taft took the lead to help find funding for a couple of projects based upon Job Retention in the downtown area of Sheffield and to help drainage issues near Keller Hospital.   There were also issues with mosquitos in this area that was getting out of control.

The City Council and the Mayor of Sheffield took responsibility for the project and has administered the project from the grantee position. In fact, the City of Sheffield received nearly 3 million Dollars through the EDA Grant.

I also truly felt the need to start the project to prevent erosion and to protect the Tennessee River from infiltration of unnecessary sediment.   At this point of the project that is about 60% completed, local contractors have been used for the project.

I have confidence that this project will be a benefit to the city and residents for decades to come, thereby continuing the positive growth along Montgomery Avenue.”

This is exactly what Sheffield and Colbert County needs, someone who not only understands the issues and needs of the region, but knows how to get things done! I have known Tommy all of my life, his work ethic and integrity are unquestionable. Do yourselves a favor District 1, put this man on the Commission!
