One Person Dead After Single-Vehicle Accident In Walker County

WALKER COUNTY-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency has reported a single-vehicle accident that has taken the life of one person and sent another person to hospital with injuries:

“A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m. Thursday, September  26, has claimed the life of a Quinton man.

James R. Davis, 53, was fatally injured when the 2001 Chevrolet S-10 pickup that he was driving left the roadway and struck multiple trees. Davis was pronounced deceased at the scene. A passenger in the Chevrolet, Joy L. Stillwell, 49, of Dora, was injured and transported to the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Hospital for medical treatment. Neither Davis nor Stillwell were using a seat belt at the time of crash.

The crash occurred on River Road near Old Baltimore Road, approximately two miles northeast of Cordova, in Walker County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
