One Dead After Three-Vehicle Accident On I-65 Near Falkville

MORGAN COUNTY– On Saturday, June 8 the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency report a three-vehicle accident that has taken the life of one person on I-65 near the Falkville exit:

A three-vehicle crash at 6:40 a.m.on Saturday, June 8, has claimed the life of an Aviston, Illinois man.

Jonathan G. Hopkins, 52, was killed when the 2015 Chevrolet Pickup he was driving was struck by a 2012 Jeep Cherokee driven by James Andrew Terrell, 38, of Huntsville. The Jeep Cherokee then struck a 2013 Chevrolet Ambulance driven by Lifeguard Ambulance Service personnel.

Hopkins was pronounced dead at the scene. Terrell was injured and taken to Huntsville Hospital. The ambulance did not have a patient, and the ambulance personnel were not injured.

The crash occurred on I-65 four miles east of Falkville at exit 322. Nothing further is available as ALEA State Troopers continue to investigate.”
