HARTSELLE-The Morgan County Sheriff’s Department released several statements concerning the shooting that took place at the Quail Creek Campground resulting in the death of one person:
“[Shooting 7:20pm on September 1, 2022] Deputies have responded to a shooting call at the campground at Quail Creek near Hartselle. Air Evac initiated. Scene secure. Use caution in the area due to large first responder presence.
[UPDATE 8:00pm] Deputies located 1 subject with apparent gunshot wound in critical condition. EMS rendering aid. Air evac on scene. 2 detained at this time. Investigators on scene.

[UPDATE 9:30pm] The wounded subject has died at the scene. This is an isolated incident that appears to stem from a domestic incident.
Sheriff Puckett, Coroner Jeff Chunn and District Attorney Anderson are on scene.
[SUBJECT IDENTIFIED] Morgan County Coroner, Jeff Chunn identified 48-year-old Jeremy Alexander Morse as the subject who died in last night’s shooting.”
