DECATUR-The Decatur Police responded to a shots fired call on Monday, April 6th.  Here is how they describe events leading up to the arrest of one man:

“SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:
On April 6, 2015 at 9:11 pm, Officers with the Decatur Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to a shooting in the 1200 block of Stuart Ave SW Decatur, AL 35601.
Officers made contact with several witnesses of the shooting. Officers learned that a black male later identified as, 18-year-old Ricky Malik Mason was involved in a disturbance in the roadway with a black male.
Ricky armed himself with a handgun and fired towards the male as he ran past the residence of 1210 Stuart Ave SW. The detached garage to 1210 Stuart Ave SW was struck by a bullet fired by Ricky.
Officers searched the area and located Ricky a short distance from the scene. Ricky was transported to the Decatur Police Department. Det. Joshua Fisher placed Ricky under arrest for Shooting into an Unoccupied Building, a class C felony. Ricky was charged and booked into the Decatur City Jail. He was transferred to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $2,500.00 dollar bond.”
