ATHENS-The Athens Police made an arrest on Sunday, June 21 after receiving a call about a possible meth .
Here is how Police Chief Floyd Johnson describe the events leading up to the arrest of one suspect:
“Sunday afternoon, June 21 the Athens police department received a call of a possible meth lab at 517 Marion Street. When officers entered the residence they noticed an order associated with a meth lab. Officers ask Joni Lynn Stephens Cooper about the order and she showed them a bottle that had been converted to a meth lab. Officers recovered the bottle used to produce meth, digital scales, straws, syringes, numerous baggies with a white power substance, a marijuana grinder, coffee filters, ammonia nitrate, glue sticks, can of Drano, tubing and a jar of unknown liquid. Officers arrested Cooper for Manufacture of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a controlled Substance. Cooper was booked at the police department and transferred to the Limestone County jail.”
