Omar Patrick “Pat” Waldrep of Cherokee passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at the age of 84. His visitation will be Thursday, February 21, 2019 at First United Methodist Church, Tuscumbia, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The funeral service will follow with Rudy Guess, Chad Kennington and Sam Hays officiating. Burial will be in Allsboro Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pat retired from TVA and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Tuscumbia.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Ruby Mae Waldrep; brother, George Malcolm “Mac” Waldrep; and sister-in-law, Mary Jane Waldrep.
Pat is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jane Rutherford Waldrep; son, Lyn Waldrep (Vicki), Athens; daughter, Anita Whitaker (Jeff), Cherokee; three grandchildren, Jeffery Whitaker (Ashley), Andrew Waldrep and Elizabeth Waldrep; and two great-grandchildren, Garrett and Brylee Kate Whitaker.
Pallbearers will be Jeffery Whitaker, Andrew Waldrep, Dexter Waldrep, Malcolm Waldrep, Raymond Wallace and Luther Bishop.Honorary pallbearers will be L.O. Bishop, Larry Parker, Bruce Morgan, Jimmy Spain, Casey Lambert and Jimmy Johnson.
