Olin Clifford Hershberger Jr, age 85 of Lynchburg, passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania on November 23, 1935 to the late Olin Clifford and Edna (Yearick) Hershberger. Olin served in the United States Air Force before retiring from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in 1992. Since retirement, he had spent time working with high school students at the local airport rebuilding airplanes. A certified pilot, he treasured his time flying, but also enjoyed riding motorcycles, reading, and traveling (especially to Florida). Olin treasured his beloved family and loved working on family genealogy. He is survived by his loving children, Susan H. (Tom) Starke of Chapin, South Carolina, and Robert W. Hershberger of Manchester; grandchildren, Corey Lynn (Kyle) Reed of Winchester, Thomas R. (Becca) Hershberger of Spring Branch, Texas, Benjamin T. Starke of Chapin, South Carolina, and 2nd Lt. William A. (Maddie) Starke of New Bern, North Carolina; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Stella Kate, and Hattie Mae Reed, and Caroline Hershberger; brothers, Maurice LeRoy Hershberger of Phoenix, Arizona, Arthur Bainard Hershberger of Salem, New York, and Ronald Glenn (Brenda) Hershberger of Rock Ford, Illinois; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 am on Monday, June 28, 2021 in the Chapel of Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at 2:00pm EST at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
