Olene Simmons Davis Brewer, age 89, of Florence, passed away Nov. 17, 2014, at Glenwood Nursing Home. Mrs. Brewer was a native of Humphreys County, Tennessee, living in Florence, Alabama since 1995. She was retired from Reynolds Metals Company and a member of Underwood Baptist Church.
Visitation will be today from 6-8 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014, at noon in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Brothers Donnie McDaniel, Jerry Phillips, and John Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Brewer was preceded in death by her husbands, Jewette Davis and Harry Brewer, stepdaughter, Patsy Thomas, and infant son, Donovan Davis.
She is survived by her stepchildren, Michael Brewer (Regina), Stephen Brewer, of Florence, and Ronnie Brewer (Brenda), of Covington, Texas; brother, Robert Simmons, of Nashville, Tennessee; sister, Ruby Vaden, of Madison, Tennessee; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was especially loved by her grandkids, Chris, Jason, Ashley, Allison, Becky, and Jennifer for whom she had such joy watching grow up.
